Prof.Dr.Emal Wardak was born on 21 April 1978, in Kabul, in the family of Prof. M Mussa Wardak, completed high school at Abdul Hadi Dawi High School in Kabul, than after giving the entrance exam got selected in Balkh medical University, and studied medicine there for 3 years, but due to political instability he migrated to India in 1997, in 1998 after giving an entrance test he was given a scholarship and got admission in Medical School of SMS medical college Jaipur, Rajasthan University in 1998. After completing MBBS in 2003, and after one year of internship, gave entrance exam to post graduation institutes and luckily got selected in one of the best institute of the world that is Postgradute institute of Medical education and research, Chandigarh, India. And after completing 3 year of residency and passing the exam with Bronze Medal, did senior residency followed by fellowship in spine and joint replacement surgery at Sancheti hospital, Pune, Germany, United States, And HongKong,
In 2008 came back to Kabul to serve his country, and after getting his degree accepted by the Ministry, was appointed as specialist in wazir akbar khan government hospital, than got promoted to rank of trainer, than assistant and than Associate professor, and in 2020 got promoted to be the Head of Department. The following are some of his achievements:

  • During these many years he has written 3 books, many articles, presented in more than 100 international papers , as a faculty and invited speaker, published 8 international scientific papers in international journals.
  • He is part of many international organizations to name few SICOT, AO, AADO, OASAC, OTA, FAA, IAA NZOIA).
  • Became among the founding members of Afghan Orthopedic and Trauma association in 2009.
  • He is the first Afghan to clear the international Diplomate of SICOT exam and get the title of Dip. SICOT awarded.
  • He is the first Afghan to get SICOT German Fellowship award In 2009 he joined the Orthopedic.
  • He is first Afghan to be president of an international association which is the orthopedic society of SAARC countries (OASAC) in 2017 was elected as President elect and in 2019 and in 2019 hosted the international 13 Biennial on behalf of Afghanistan in Tashkent.
  • He is the first Afghan to become part of the executive members of AOSEC (AO Alliance), and organized many AO symposium and workshops in kabul, and other areas at international level.
  • Currently he is the elected Director of the trainers association of ministry of public health
